1. What advice would you give someone starting a business?
Certainly the most important part of starting a new business is having a good business plan and sticking with it. Stay focused and avoid getting sidetracked. Find good people and allow them to be creative, then devote the hours necessary to providing leadership. Never forget your customers because without them, a new business cannot grow and do well.
2. Why is Memphis good for entrepreneurs?
Memphis has a reputation of being a good place where entrepreneurs can establish a new business. Our financial institutions and successful entrepreneurs are sounding boards for new ideas and business plans, and our banking institutions are very much oriented toward entrepreneurship and willing to support new business ventures. The Memphis metropolitan area seems to have a big community atmosphere that is conducive to balanced family relationships. Memphis is a good place in which to start a business as well as to raise your family.
