"In today's world, we need more aspiring young people to pursue their dream of owning their own businesses." That's exactly what Charles Ewing did. After working at the Commercial Appeal for fifteen years, he started Ewing Moving Service Inc. with one truck and one employee in 1980. Today, Charles Ewing is President and CEO of this international, commercial and residential relocation company that has 47 employees and a fleet of trucks. The company serves such corporate clients as TVA, Memphis Grizzlies, Federal Express, International Paper and the University of Memphis.

Mr. Ewing's 15 year growth plan has led him to expand to a 274,000 sq. ft. facility which is now the new worldwide distribution center and headquarters.

Charles has joined a group of local investors who successfully committed more than $100 million to purchase up to half of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies to bring the team to Memphis. He has a strong love for Memphis, and his dream is to make it as great as possible.

Thoughts on Entrepreneurship:

"'Entrepreneurship is challenging, difficult, but rewarding. Being an entrepreneur is the epitome of the American free enterprise system. In today’s business world, we need more aspiring young people to pursue their dreams of owning their own business. If I had not taken the risk of going into business-in spite of the obstacles before me-I wouldn’t have achieved such success. When you really make up in your mind to do it, and people see that there is no turning back, half of the battle is already won."
